Needle felted miniatures are now specially priced for gift giving! They are mounted on natural wood base gathered and hand finished by me and include a tiny glass dome for protection from dust.
Freshly emerged, a tiny needle felted mushroom nestles under glass to remind you of autumn walks and forest treasures gathered. Zeller's Bolete mushrooms are beautifully marked with a cap deeply colored in tone of wine and ruby, with ruby streaks and pale golden tones enhancing their sturdy stems. Here a tiny button has just risen up from beneath the moss.
This miniature scene features a single young Zeller's Bolete mushroom sprouting from an earthy bed of soil and moss and is created entirely of wool and very tiny fleece curls. Tiny woolen "stones" nestle among the mossy tufts. I have made the base from a slice of fallen white oak, hand finished with tung oil and a small glass dome completes the piece.
Here in the Pacific Northwest the forest comes alive with all sorts of delightful fungi after a little rainfall. Mushrooms of every shape, color and size decorate the forest floor and inspired me to needle felt a few of the species I find to bring the joy of an autumn jaunt to your home and mine!
The measurements for this item are 3" wide and 5 1/2" tall including the base and dome.
The needle felting itself measures 2" wide and 3" high and is truly a tiny treasure!
