The Taj Mahal ("crown of palaces" in Arabic), a white marble mausoleum located on the southern bank of the Yamuna River in the Indian city of Agra, was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife of three, Mumtaz Mahal. It is one of the world’s most celebrated structures and a symbol of India’s rich architectural history.

The Taj Mahal complex was built at a cost valued today at more than 800 million US dollars. Now, thanks to this kit, you can build your own scale model for much less.

ASSEMBLY TIME - at least 12 hours

PRINTED KIT - this paper model kit is delivered unassembled, in a flat kit with all the necessary details printed on 13 sturdy A4 paper sheets. You will need to cut, fold and glue the details according to the set-up instructions.

Things which are not included, but you'll need in order to assemble the model: time & patience, a hobby knife, a ruler, a cutting mat or hard surface to work on, white glue (PVA). A pointed stylus, tweezers and scissors might be helpful.

This will be a delight for a more experienced modeler. As a general rule, we recommend our kits for anyone from age 14 as building work requires patience, advanced motor skills and ability to read assembly diagrams and instructions. Younger modelers will need adult support and supervision.

Probably these pre-cut models are better for kids and generally beginners in paper model building since they contain less details and no cutting is needed - just folding and gluing:

Paper is sturdy enough but definitely not thick, it's easy to score and cut with a hobby knife (X-Acto or similar). It's not so easy to use scissors as some details are quite small and delicate so we recommend cutting with a knife. We recommend using a white glue (PVA, Elmer's or similar). You can use paper strips or ear picks for gluing tools.
