Description

Gary Cooper, an intimate biography
by Hector Arce
1979 Bantam paperback 260 pages
including 32 pages of revealing photographs
Measures 7 x 4 inches Weighs 6 ounces

Condition: Good
Cover has minor creases, and slight crease at spine. One page has small closed tear at bottom margin. Pages are clean, text is crisp, photographs are clean and bright. Pages are slightly tannish.

From the back cover:
"He was the handsome, all-American hero - strong, silent, courageous. Everybody's ideal.

But behind the legend, there was a very different Gary Cooper. One whose uninhibited sexuality made him a star in the boudoirs of the world's most beautiful women. A stud who was passed around like a prize bull as he climbed to fame and fortune. A complex man whose stormy affairs were hidden from the public but shocked filmland's jaded elite.

This is the whole story. The career. The women. The turbulent marriage. The unforgettable roles. The flesh and blood Coop, warm, witty and wild - told by those who worked with him, slept with him, laughed with him, and sometimes cried.

Gary Cooper - he lived and loved... at high noon."

From Wikipedia:
"Gary Cooper (born Frank James Cooper; May 7, 1901 – May 13, 1961) was an American film actor known for his natural, authentic, and understated acting style and screen performances. His career spanned thirty-five years, from 1925 to 1960, and included leading roles in eighty-four feature films. He was a major movie star from the end of the silent film era through the end of the golden age of Classical Hollywood. His screen persona appealed strongly to both men and women, and his range of performances included roles in most major movie genres. Cooper's ability to project his own personality onto the characters he played contributed to his appearing natural and authentic on screen. The screen persona he sustained throughout his career represented the ideal American hero."
