Description

This listing is for a beadwork tutorial for spiral pattern Chenille rope, worked over a 3mm satin covered cord pre-finished necklace. It is an intermediate level project, and is most easily done by beadweavers comfortable with Chenille stitch. The tutorial does teach the stitch so knowledge of the stitch is not a pre-requisite.

Satin cord necklaces on which to work this pattern are available here in my shop at: https://www.etsy.com/listing/454042884/set-of-three-18-3mm-satin-covered-cords The tutorial offers other suppliers as well.

The tutorial includes materials lists for two colorways of four color rope, and instructions on weaving the rope. Adapting the work to beads from different manufacturers is explained. Other colorways are shown, and design using gradation is discussed to help you develop your own color palettes. Four bonus charts for spirals with 8 colors, 3 colors, 2 colors, and a 2 color offset are included, as well as a chart for a smaller rope, worked over a 2mm satin cord.

This pattern takes a simple technique and makes is special and unique. The center point of the rope can look two different ways, depending on which side is revealed, and information is included for adding pendant focals to the finished rope.

A rope takes between 6-8 hours to complete.

This tutorial is for personal and commercial use. You may sell finished work made from my tutorial, if you personally make the rope. What a fabulous tutorial. So clearly explained, it feels like having Marsha with me as I bead. The kit is really lovely, with the most delightful choice of beads. Sometimes bead quality and colours in kits can disappoint, but not in this kit. A real winner, I love it.
