My boyfriend came up with a super idea to make some face pendants with moving parts and while that sounded like a super idea at the beginning after 4 hours and more swear words that I can count I finally came up with some that worked.

This one is titles "Shipwreck Artifact" I love the colors on this one and I really wanted it to feel like something that you might find in a ancient shipwreck. behind the moving gear are some tiny broken gears that I added in (you almost can't see them unless you know what to look for) The face is made out of a clay called paperclay, I then press antique watch parts into the clay and run the ends of the tiny gears over the clay to make really cool impressions. I then added one free moving gear in the cheek . This silver gear can be carefully spun with your fingers (the gear does not move as easily in this piece as in my red and silver one but it does move. It is so much fun to play with. These pendants are very hard to do and I don't plan on making many so if you want one that has a moving part like this one does don't wait.

After the clay drys I then take a small brush and paint the face and tiny gear in shades of brown, red, gold and more. The face is then sealed in several coats of indoor/outdoor sealer to protect it (the watch parts are done is glossy and the face is done in a matte finish to give it extra contrast).

The finished face is then sealed with several coats of indoor/ outdoor sealer.

This pendant is hand signed by the artist Samantha Kocsis and is a one of a kind piece.

Face size is approximately 1.75 long by 1 3/8 inches across, with without the bail for hanging.
