This is a wonderful large-scale print that features the artwork of EDWARD GOREY. It shows a scene from Gorey's 1954 book "THE LISTING ATTIC." It shows the cruel Lord Stipple addressing his son, and the text reads: "To his clubfooted child said Lord Stipple, As he poured his post-prandial tipple, 'Your mother's behaviour Gave pain to Our Savior, And that's why He made you a cripple.' " - a very Gorey-esque limerick!
The print was part of a folio of work published in 1979 - the back bears the number 38 and a smaller illustration.
It measures approx. 15 3/4" x 11" - with the image this large you can really see the intricate line work that Edward Gorey was famous for. It is in very good condition, and comes in a protective plastic sleeve and well-packed for shipping.
Suitable for framing, this would make a special gift for the Edward Gorey enthusiast, or the perfect addition to your own collection!
