Vintage West German lime green glass beads that were handmade so the amount of 'peridot' or lime green and clear varies from bead to bead. They have a wonderful satin finish and are very elegant!

***If you love this bead, please check out my item GL-371 which is the same bead but in an 8mm size ( and pkg of 4 )***

Also, if this kind of bead intrigues you , I also have it listed in a deep amber brown and black combination, as well as a rose pink and clear so please have a look!

In 1979 we were in London during one of our very first European buying trips. I was always hunting for interesting vintage West German glass beads in unusual colors to add interest to the numerous beaded necklaces I was doing for the Smithsonian as well as for my own catalog of designs. These are a true 'lime green'!

We discovered these beads, like so many others that I have in my shop, in London's antique district on Portobello Road.

Price is for 2 of these 12mm vintage West German lampwork round glass beads which I 100% guarantee to be vintage and purchased in London in 1979 but we were told were from the 1950's.

I sold many of these vintage West German glass beads through the Smithsonian Institution's museum shop and mail order catalog during the 1980's and they were also featured in trunk shows at Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue during this same time period.

You'll never see vintage West German glass beads like this nowadays at your neighborhood "gem show"!
