Reasonable efforts are made to show the colors of fabric accurately. An exact match is not guaranteed as colors seen on a screen (monitor, tablet, phone, etc.) can be slightly different from an actual product. Screens use RGB (red, green, blue) light, which often creates brighter, more saturated colors than physical objects. Minor color variations between the listing image and the product received may occur.

Some fabric designs/ patterns work best in 2" collar widths. The pattern’s 'repeat' and width, style and size of collar, determines how the fabric will be best cut to fit on a collar. Loss of pattern visibility will occur between 2", 1.5" and 1” collars. The item you receive will be similar to, but not a duplicate of the fabric pattern placement shown in the listing photo sample(s).

Measuring Instructions:
I do not make martingales with buckles or collars for Italian greyhounds (iggys). Most greyhounds take my size MD, and whippets take my size SM. PLEASE measure your dog prior to purchase and contact me with any sizing concerns, as returns and/or exchanges are not accepted. If you need an “in-between” size, just let me know 😊 (Note: collar makers do not all use the same sizing guidelines, so it’s a good idea to re-measure your pup before you buy from anyone.)

Since a martingale collar slips on over the dog's head, you need to allow for an additional 2 inches of “wiggle room” greater than the largest HEAD measurement.
Using a soft tape measure (or use a string and then measure it with a ruler), measure three points:
A) circumference around the dog's head/face in front of the ears
B) circumference around the dog's head/ face behind the ears
C) around the neck (where the collar will sit).
*If the largest measurement of your dog's head is no larger than 13" and the neck is between 11-15", you would need a size SM.
*If the largest measurement of your dog's head is no larger than 16" and the neck is between 14-18", you would need a size MD.
*If the largest measurement of your dog's head is no larger than 19" and the neck is between 17-21", you would need a size LG.

SM: 11"-15" neck, whippets or pups with no larger than 13” head
MD: 14"-18" neck, greyhounds or pups with no larger than 16” head
LG: 17"-21" neck, pups no larger than 19” head

Collars are constructed with a sturdy poly-pro webbing ‘core’ that is completely wrapped with smooth polyester satin, topped with stabilized unwashed cotton fabric and top stitched with two rows of shiny color-coordinated tri-lobal poly thread. Seams are triple stitched with commercial weight poly thread. Hardware is welded, nickel or brass plated. Your collar will be brand new and never worn or tried on by another, so just like shoes they may need a period of “break-in” and will soften over time.
Each collar is individually handcrafted, and therefore, no two are exactly alike.

Your collar(s) will be custom sewn and shipped out within 7 business days. Orders with free shipping and those with more than 4 items may take longer to process. If more time is needed to process your order, you will receive a message with an updated shipping date.

Lighter color collars may show dirt quicker than expected. But collars can be hand, or machine washed on gentle cycle, with mild soap in cold water (no fabric softener, or bleach). Do not machine spin, twist or wring dry. Re-shape by hand and air-dry flat.

There is no specific timeframe as to how long a fabric collar should last. Lifespan depends on frequency of collar use, how well they are taken care of, and your dog’s activity level. Rotation between several collars is suggested. Frequent exposure to tugging/ pulling, scratching, weather elements, salt water and dirt will speed up the wear/ fading of the fabric and compromise the stitching and integrity of the collar. Collars should be inspected regularly for rips, tears, loose or unraveling stitches, chipping hardware and other signs of wear. Loss of hot-fixed embellishments, snags and or pulls of embroidery threads are considered part of normal wear & tear.

A martingale is technically a 'choke' collar, and it is not recommended for use 24/7.
Martingale collars should only be used for leash-walking and active training. They are not recommended for pups that are heavy pullers, as a restraint device or tie-out, while running loose in the yard, in a doggy daycare, or while crated. The cinching loop poses a severe entanglement or choking hazard without direct supervision. Collars should be removed once back in the house. Please do not hang tags from the d-ring. A thin separate dedicated tag collar is recommended for the ID. Retractable leashes are never recommended. Buyer is solely responsible for determining the safe use of my products.

Orders that are marked delivered by the post office which you did not receive, will not be re-made/ re-shipped if you can't locate them. You will need to contact your local post office for their help.
