From the book's back cover:
"The Great Green Okayness is a field guide to discovering the beautiful wildlife within, infused with a dollop of nourishing honey and delectable color. Wise author and artist Rachel Awes, a psychologist of twenty years, created these works of the magnificent human heart from her reflections following client sessions. Each passage and corresponding artwork speak to the soul like a potent, powerful reduction of boiled-down truth and goodness that every one of us needs daily, a homecoming gift to our humanity. Open to any page and find the passage that you need now. From the African plain to the great cosmos, Awes takes her readers on a journey to discover the beauty around, within, and always."

Book endorsements:

"The Great Green Okayness is an uncommon book. Reading it is a revelation, an opening to the goodness within that we may scarcely dare to believe in. Rachel Awes sees our innocence, believes in our innate goodness and guides the reader, like a master poet, to embrace life’s great work: the embodiment of love."
Henry Emmons, MD, author of The Chemistry of Joy, The Chemistry of Calm and Staying Sharp.

“We are constantly bombarded with messages, both good and bad, about who we are and our place in this world. Rachel Awes teaches us how to take control of those messages by being kind to ourselves. The Great Green Okayness is a delightfully illustrated guide to self-acceptance and finding joy. I LOVE this book!”
Elizabeth Ries, Twin Cities television and radio personality

"This is a book to be sipped and savored. With an economy of words Rachel cuts straight to the deep--to the reassurances and revelations that release inner pressure valves, giving you room to breathe, to smile, to let yourself gloriously be."
Jen Lee, Filmmaker and co-author of The 10 Letters Project.

"The Great Green Okayness is bursting with light and goodness. Rachel is the best listener we have ever met in our lives. In her presence, you feel really seen and heard. This feeling is the heart of her book. Reading it brings you back home to your glorious magnificence! We love it so much!"
Lori Portka & Liv Lane, co-authors of Infinite Purpose

“The Great Green Okayness is inspiringly beautiful and provocative. Rachel’s stories, along with her magical drawings, promote self-reflection that linger long after one has finished reading its pages. An important book with an infinitely important message: You are not a work in progress. You are a beautiful you.”
Colleen Baldrica, Author of Tree Spirited Woman.

"Rachel did it again! This fresh collection of inspiration is vibrant, life-affirming, and overflowing with encouragement. I turn to this gem of a book whenever I need a boost. Every page offers loving validation with the voice of a dear friend or mentor. The bold, bright artwork enriches the experience, bringing smiles with each turned page. Thank you for this gift of a book, Rachel!"
Amanda Fall, creator, editor, publisher

"I started reading this book in the evenings before I went to bed, but about halfway through I decided to go back to page one and start reading a few pages each morning. It is the kind of book you want to start your day with - inspiring, uplifting and wildly encouraging. Thank you Rachel Awes!!"
Christine Mason Miller, artist, author, retreat leader

"I was privileged to hear Rachel Awes speak at an artist's retreat in the Twin Cities in the fall of 2015. She was the morning motivator and had everyone on their feet, waving brightly colored flags, dancing and having the time of their lives at the end of her speaking session. I am not a morning person, and so, when I became THAT engaged at that hour, having that much fun, well, she had me wrapped around her little finger, after that! I purchased one of her books at the vendor fair that evening, and loved it! When Rachel announced she was working on a new book, I got into line, supporting her endeavors! I was happy to get my own signed copy of The Great Green Okayness from Rachel, herself. If you are looking for a book, with very affirming, descriptive, poetic language, filled with colorful stories, poems, prompts, and just down to earth, goodness? Then, this is the book for you! It is one of the best pick me ups around, written by one of the most kind, warm-hearted and generous women I know! Check out this self-titled "Art Playgroundists' " writings, gleaning on her 20 years of work as a Psychologist and her fun way of digging deep into your heart and soul with an amazing woven manner and storytelling."
Angela Rae Barribeau, artist

"Once again, Rachel Awes offers up a gift to the world. As with her first book, "All I Did Was Listen", I like to keep this gem on my coffee table where it's ready for a passerby to open up and read a random page. It never fails...we always open to the page that we need at that moment. It's like magic! The illustrations are gorgeous, the words are just beautiful, and even the pages feel nicer than most books....or maybe it's just because EVERYTHING seems better when you've got something as wonderful as this in your hands. No matter...this book is a treasure. I've already gifted one friend with a copy, and I'll be buying more. It's just perfect."
Stephanie Sharp, artist

"How can I even begin to express my gratitude to the glory / grace / deep wisdom that lives within these pages. It is a TRUE and timely field guide that will literally reach out / meet / and expand you (((wherever you are))). It is a living breathing heart beat pool of art + wisdom. Lifetimes of deep-seeing, deep-listening, and deeply-clarified-responses that Rachel has poured out for us in such a glorious form. It is definitely made of star-stuff. It has a special place in my Voyaguer bag!"
Carissa Paige, artist, writer, intuitive voyageur

"The Great Green Okayness is way more than okay. This charming book overflows with inspiration, from the whimsical art, which Rachel Awes creates herself, to her colorful reflections and homespun wisdom on living an authentic life. I keep my copy by my bed table and no matter what's going on in my life, Rachel Awes' Great Green book never fails to spotlight the inspiration needed for the day. Rachel Awes has done it again! I now have all of her books."
Leah Griffith, artist, author

"I have already read this book twice through! It is an amazing and uplifting read! It is filled with nuggets of inspiration and the author's beautiful artwork. I have read all of Rachel's books and they never disappoint! I love sharing from them as a closing for my own art retreats I lead; which leaves the participants always wanting more. It is as if Rachel is sitting in your living with you and sharing a cup of tea and having a conversation. This is a must for anyone to add to their personal library!"
Donna Wynn, writer, artist

"This a book for everyone who has ever wandered through life wondering if they are just not enough - not okay. The Great Green Okayness, through it's beautiful art and wonderful words, finds that spot within you and gives it a great green hug! Also, I love that you can read it all in one sitting, or one page a time...exactly when you need it. Magical."
Joan Steffend, author, speaker, tv host, peace seeker

This book is a gift that keeps on giving. I read it completely enjoying the words snd art. I came back a few days later and just opened it randomly. Again, touched my heart. I’ve felt like I have a friend on my table as I can pull it out and sigh. The art is amazing and inspiring. On my list for gift giving.
