This print is in excellent condition. It's printed on a quality weight white stock with a very light sheen. The ground behind the flower arrangements varies among the months from a pale yellow/tan to a medium golden tan color. Printing on the reverse is not visible on the flower image side. Sold unframed so you can frame it to suit your own taste and décor. You will receive the actual November Flowers print from the 1980s book, not a copy of the print and not the original illustration from the 1700s.

Meaningful Gift Ideas …
♥ This print would make a very special wedding or anniversary gift for a couple who were married in November. Even more on point--paper is the traditional first anniversary gift according to old etiquette guides.
♥ A collection of Furber prints in the birth months of family members would also be special and meaningful gifts, particularly as each new child is born. Lovely wall gallery idea!

History: In 1730, Robert Furber, a London nurseryman/gardener, produced an extraordinary catalog to sell flower seeds to his customers. The catalog featured detailed illustrations of grand flower arrangements in neoclassical urns grouped by the months in which they bloomed. Furber's original works were so successful that they were used for additional engravings by several other publishers for decades. In 1745, Bowles' had Furber’s work re-engraved in reverse on a slightly smaller scale and with the addition of butterflies, caterpillars and other insects. An original set of Bowles' 1745 'Twelve Months of Flowers' are on display at the Winterthur Museum on the former estate of Henry Francis du Pont.
