Description

Send in the clowns….

This set of canisters is really wild! So kitsch and sure to liven up your kitchen! These canisters are such a bold shape and the design is really something! Each canister features a unique, hand drawn clown with bright and bold colours, framed with grey vertical striping that is so often found in Italian ceramics of this time. Set contains 1 large Salt (‘Sale’) canister, 2 medium sized coffee (‘Caffe’) and Sugar (’Zucchero’) canisters and 2 small Salt (‘Salefino’) and Pepper (‘Pepe’) canisters.

Dimensions:

Large:
Height – 16cm / 6.2”
Width – 11cm / 4.3”

Medium:
Height – 13cm / 5.1”
Width – 9cm / 3.5”

Small:
Height – 10cm / 4”
Width – 7.5cm / 3”

The condition is generally very good. There are two chips on the underside of two of the lids (see photo) and some light crazing to the glaze. Other than this, there are a few glaze imperfections from firing, but nothing unexpected. None of this affects the overall look of these canisters.
A few of the jars are marked ‘BG’ but I have not been able to track the maker.

These canisters are so unique and unusual. So of their time! Don’t miss your chance to own these wonderful pieces! Your kitchen will thank you!
