Description

This wonderful plaque was inspired by the "Sedlec Ossuaries". Hidden in small towns across Europe, buried under 15th century church cemeteries, lie vast and elaborate subterraneous cathedrals. These churches are meticulously decorated with human bones, which are arranged to embellish walls ceilings, plaques, and chandeliers. We have always gasped at the profound beauty of these churches, and dream of visiting them some day in the future. Until that day comes, we will satisfy our love for this morbidly stunning form of honoring the dead, by decorating our home with homages like this plaque. This particular stone has been named "Piedra de la Protection", and we feel that hanging it in your home will bring you protection. This plaque is one of 3 that were created in this series (see photo #5) . Each plaque has a parchment embedded in the back, that tells its story, and inspiration (see photo #4). Any one or all of these plaques would make a wonderful, unique house warming gift.

Measurements:
Width: 5 3/4 inches, 14 1/2 cm
Length: 7 inches, 18cm
(hangs like photo #1)

Materials: aged casting stone, paint , sealer, copper wire, parchment paper

Color: aged stone

Care: wipe with a damp sloth (oops, I meant cloth)

Note: this listing is for one plaque only, the other 2 in photo #5 will be available as separate listings.
