Description

Brigid is the Goddess of Fire and also the first aspect of the Goddess as maiden. She is the rebirth of Nature represented by an innocent young woman in White. Her fire illuminates the cold dark woods and it is the first announcement of the arrival of spring. She is also known as the triple Goddess of fire (Bride, Brigit y Brighde) representing three different kinds of fire: the Hearth-fire (the fire that is in the home and in the smithy), the fire of inspiration and finally the fire of smithcraft.

As a Goddess of healing she has many springs and wells dedicated to her throughout the British Islands. She is also the Goddess of poetry and all the arts and crafts. Her other attributes are: purity, transformation, youth and immortality.
