Batik = Tropical. Exotic.

*** Batik is a technique used to dye cloth. Batik designs are made either by drawing or printing a pattern with a wax “resist.” The applied wax resists dyes, creating unique designs and allows the artisan to color the exposed areas of the cloth. ***

I've created a unique technique to mimic the look of batik on polymer clay and I'd like to share this technique with you. I've created this interactive tutorial to guide you through the steps required to achieve colorful batik-inspired patterns on raw polymer clay.

• 15 photo-filled pages.

* 40+ photos.

* 3 easy-to-follow variations of the batik technique.

• Skill level: Advanced beginner – Intermediate. A basic knowledge of polymer clay is recommended.

• This tutorial is for creating a veneer only. It does NOT explain how to create finished pieces.

• Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to open and read this pdf. The latest version for desktop computers can be found here: https://get.adobe.com/reader.
