Description

About the "Behind the Fire Series": I began this painting series in early 2010. It features glass artists at work and illustrates their individual style. The series premiered at the Degenerate Flame Off on May 31st-June 2nd, 2013 at Cornerstone Glass (Eugene, OR). The "Darby" painting is the first addition to this series since that event. Although not pictured I had Darby sign 35 out of the 40 that were printed. The signed ones will be sent out to the first buyers.

This is an authorized giclée print produced on Ultrasmooth 100% Rag Fine Art paper, which is archival and acid free. It will be shipped in a cylindrical mailing tube along with a certificate of authenticity. The pictures of the actual prints have some reflection because they are under plastic.

Details about this print:
Title: Darby (No. 14)
Artist: Tara Stanley
Original Painting Medium & Substrate: Acrylic on canvas
Original Painting Size: 30" x 40"

These 12" x 16" prints are in a Limited Edition/First Run of 40.
There is a paper border of 1" on top and sides. The bottom has a 2" border.
The painting was completed in September of 2013.
The digital file was created on October 17, 2013.
This giclée print was printed on November 1, 2013.

What is a Giclée? Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) printing is a relatively new process for art reproduction. It requires digital input (scanning) of original art. Once this is done, the file is painstakingly color corrected. Proofs are made to produce a print that closely matches the original art . After the artist has approved the color, prints are made on a high resolution inkjet printer using fine art paper or canvas and archival inks.

Giclées are as permanent and lasting as any other work of art on paper. Proper framing is suggested for the prints. Flat dry storage will make the giclées last permanently. Use archival materials and matboard when framing. Matboard will keep the glass from touching it and UV filter/coated glass will help protect the inks. Avoid placing framed prints or any art on paper in direct sunlight, which can cause fading. The glass will slow the aging if you intend to spotlight the print.

Awesome beads, as luminescent as the comb jellies at Monterey Bay Aquarium; never seen anything as beautiful in dichroic glass. Thank you!
