This is the perfect gift for that young man who wants a knife like dad or granddad but isn't quite ready for the real thing. I made the very first one of these for my 7 year old son and he loved it. They are made from beautiful American hardwoods of contrasting colors. The knives have a real wooden spring that lets them "snap" open and closed just like the real thing. These kits are an excellent way for adults and children to spend quality time together.
This is a kit for a wooden pocket knife. They make great gifts for adults as well as children. This is a kit, it requires your time as well as super glue or wood glue and sandpaper. It teaches woodworking skills and patience. You can throw it together in minutes. But, if you take your time yours can look like the one pictured in the photos. The wooden blade comes unsharpened with a rounded point, it is up to you to decide how sharp to make it. I use the one in the photo as a letter opener.
Extremely easy to put together. All parts fit precisely and holes allign perfectly. Ask if you have any assembly questions.
It is packaged in a nostalgic "mint-tin" container and includes complete assembly instructions. I make and assemble these in my workshop in South Carolina. This is a 100% original product of which I am very proud. These kits have maple bodies and springs, cherry inlays and cherry blades. Technical support is available through www.jamesonwoodworks.com. You can also email a photo of your finished knife and we will put it in the photo gallery section of the website.
This price is for the kit(1 metal container, instructions, 6 wooden parts, 3 metal pins). Thank you for looking.
