Thanks to her mother, my six year old cowgirl is extremely intelligent, loquacious and psychic. For a year she told us she was dying because of her heart. We assumed it was drama coupled with anxiety but a Dr. actually did hear the murmur which has lead us to this terrifying and incomprehensible heart breaking open heart surgery Wednesday next. Now almost to the end of this traumatic event that should happen to someone like me who earned it not a six year old angelic cowgirl. During my Garcia years in the 80's I chased the dragon of God's Breath so much I stayed awake for a fortnight at a time. I feel like this tired Indian on the pendant but I will clutch it at surgery to ground me in the fact that like Garcia sang that one time only on 10/1/94 there will always be, "So Many Roads to Heal to My Soul."
