Description

The bottle is thrown on the wheel with a narrowed waist for a firmer grip. The shoulder is indented to give a groove for the glazes to flow through as they melt, and a slip trailed pattern is added as decoration on one of the shoulders. The stopper is also thrown on the wheel and indented to match the bottle. The stopper is ground with the neck of the bottle to give a smooth and snug fit. The bottom of the bottle is trimmed to give a foot ring and smoothed with a diamond polishing pad. The bottom of every piece is stamped with my initials.

The neck of the bottle is dipped in a black glaze first. Then the outside is dipped in a white glaze, and the inside lined with the same white glaze. During the firing, the white glaze melts and flows away from the rim leaving a black rim above the overlapping detail on the shoulder. I worked on the white glaze for a long time to find a recipe that would give me a soft textured white with warm tones. If you look closely, there is a delicate tan speckle within the white giving variation and depth.

Its dimensions are approximately 3" wide and 8.5" high, with an additional 2" for the stopper. Its capacity is approximately 16oz.

This listing is for a single vinegar/dressing bottle. It is shown with other glaze options in the last photo and with an oil bottle from the same family in the second last photo. If the glaze options and oil bottles are available, they will be listed in the Kitchen & Condiments section:

PHOTOS:
I throw every piece by hand on a potter's wheel and/or use my own custom made extrusions. Most of my pieces use overlapping glazes that I make myself. When they melt and flow in the firing, the results are unique. I aim to achieve a high degree of consistency in size, shape and glaze color but no two will be exactly alike. The item you order will be as close to the photos as possible but please allow for minor variances. If this is a key concern for you, please contact me and I can send you photos of the exact piece(s) I will be shipping.

It takes lots of energy to make pottery so I fire my kiln with the help of renewable energy generated by my own solar panels. I also load the kiln with items of mixed sizes to make the best use of the space available. All excess clay from production is reworked to eliminate any waste.
As a small business owner, feedback is important and I would encourage you to message or call me with any concerns or problems regarding your order before leaving feedback so we can resolve the situation ASAP. I want you to be happy with your new pottery and make shopping with me a positive experience.
International buyers are responsible for any customs, import, and local sales taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs. VAT, for example, is not included in my listing price and may be charged to the buyer on delivery.
