Description

A mild-flavored leafy green that grows rapidly and produces an abundant harvest of pale colored leaves.

It has a firm texture like kale or collard greens, and its flavor has been described as “rich, with hints of garlic.” Also known as Amara or Texcel greens.

This statuesque plant can grow to 3 to 4 feet tall, with huge edible leaves, so plan to give it some space. If allowed to "bolt" or go to seed, the seedhead can tower a spectacular 10 feet!

Latin name: Brassica carinata

In Southern California, Ethiopian kale is best planted in COOL season.

Packet contains 60 seeds, which is plenty for urban family-sized harvests.

All Cityscape Seeds are packaged in hand-folded origami art packaging, which includes detailed planting and harvest instructions. Perfect for gifts!

· Sustainability mission: Your purchases help support the development of vegetable varieties which are adapted to L.A. local growing conditions. Thank you!

· Organic? Our seeds are responsibly grown without chemicals, following biodynamic growing practices, with full attention to growing healthy ecosystems. (Because we are too small to get certified, we cannot label them as “organic.”) We make very effort to keep our seeds free of GMO contamination. Our seed is grown on urban properties in Los Angeles.

· Sorry, we are unable to ship seeds outside of the U.S.
