Straw bee-hive hand made in the traditional medieval domed shape using coiled 'lippi' work.
The ancient skill of 'lippi work', coiling straw to create a 'Bee-Skep' (traditional Bee-hive) dates back to Medieval times. The 'skep's were used to catch swarms and house bees.
The craft has been handed down to me from my father and is now a family legacy. The 'Skeps' can be either ornamental or practical. With or without holes for bees to travel in and out of.
For Beekeepers, Gardner's and lovers of nature. Strong and long lasting inside out outdoors.
