Passage

At age 2, Makoto Ozone began playing organ in his hometown of Kobe, Japan. By 7, he was a skilled improviser and appearing regularly on TV. In 1980, he moved to Boston to study at the prestigious Berkelee College of Music. Three years later, Ozone graduated at the top of his class and gave a solo recital at the Carnegie Hall. While at Berkelee, he was mentored by acclaimed jazz vibraphonist Gary Burton. The two went on to perform and record together around the world.

This album features Ozone's masterful technique: from high-energy, driving jazz to delicate, moody pieces reminiscent of French Romantic classical composers. If you don't know about Ozone, you can judge him on the company he keeps on this record: guitarist John Abercrombie, bassist Marc Johnson and Peter Erskine on drums.

This is an album that can be embraced both by the jazz fan and classical enthusiast.

The album is in excellent shape, as is the cover and inner sleeve.
