The gorgeous Athena owl coin- in a mini version!
These were made less often than their large size cousins- but they are equally as lovely.

And this one is just perfect!
it was minted between Late 4th–mid 2nd centuries BC, and it authentic.
It was purchased from extremely reliable and trusted sources- as all of my coins are.

According to ancient Greek mythology, Athena was the daughter of Zeus and his first wife, Metis, whose name meant "wisdom." Metis warned Zeus that their first son would be more powerful than Zeus himself, which agitated Zeus so much that when Metis became pregnant he swallowed whole Metis and their unborn child. This gave him a headache, which he cured by splitting his head open with an ax. (Zeus may have been powerful but he wasn't necessarily smart.) From the wound came forth Athena, fully grown.

The owl is Athena's attribute or mascot. According to the mythology, Athena at times also took the very form of her owl.

I have set this beauty in an 22 kt gold bezel and it sits on a back plate and band of solid 18 kt gold that has a lightly hammered texture.
On each side there is a dollop of gold inset with a sparkly 2 mm pale pink diamond.

It was then given a nice shine.

Size is 6.75, but can be enlarged a whole size, or sized down if needed.

A really remarkable piece of history.
