Description

Beginning July 11, 2018 All belts pictured with chicago screws in brass hardware will be made with branded rivets instead, and the keepers will be upgraded to English made keepers.

The "Firefighter" Quick Release buckle was never actually used to hold up the fireman's pants, but rather, to keep the firehoses wrapped up. The quick release action allowed the firemen to quickly undo the buckle and gain access to the hose, when even a couple extra seconds could mean saving a life.

These buckles are functional, practical, and make a stylish fashion statement, all while telling a story.

The tension of the buckled belt will keep the buckle together, simply press down on the lever, and the buckle will come undone, allowing you to quickly remove the belt.

Handmade to order with full grain leather and raw brass hardware. I bevel and burnish the edges with water and natural bees wax which give the edges a smoother hand feel.

This particular model is made with a 1.25" wide leather and buckle. Just a little bit narrower than the 1.5" one that we offer. See the size comparison pictured.

I leave the belt undyed and untreated. Natural leather possesses the wonderful quality of taking on a personality of it's own, and of it's owner. Over time the leather will darken and form a patina unique to your lifestyle. The example pictured is my own personal belt after only 2 months. I've treated it with Jojoba oil, which is an oil that very closely resembles the oil on our own fingers and will help keep the belt supple and quicken the darkening process. If desired, I can first treat the belt with jojoba oil upon request.

To order this belt, please measure one of your old belts using the diagram pictured above. The system that I use is the most accurate method of measurement, and involves measuring from the end of the buckle prong, to the hole that fits you best (this method accounts for any difference in length between your buckle and mine). You can add your measurement in the comments section at the end of your ordering process, or you can shoot me a message thereafter. Allow 2 weeks for completion.
