Summary

This listing is for one hand turned plying stick (or wand), a thing I make that is used to wind two or three singles before adding more twist in order to avoid pigtails/eyelashes. Plying from a wand is smoother, faster, and more comfortable than from a ball.
The plying sticks are made from domestic or exotic woods: maple, walnut, cherry, mahogany, sapele.
The design of the wand features grooves that hold on to the yarn as it is being wound, and a cove shaped specifically to keep the yarn from sliding out of place.
The wands are hand turned, polished, and finished with orange oil and wax.

The images above show wands I've done in the past as examples. Please pick your preferred wood and length, and don't forget to send me a note with your order.

Thank you for your interest!
Happy treasure hunting.
