Rshi - ऋषि (sage, wiseman)

I use cleansing balms often, they're super mild for days when I haven't worn makeup and my skin is on the crabby side. I use them so often... and never stopped to look to see what was in them until this past Christmas when I was out of my fav (REN) and couldn't find it at Sephora.

Imagine my surprise when I realized I had all the ingredients in my studio!

I formulated this one with problem skin in mind, although it's great for all skin types including mature and dry skin. It's meant to be cleansing and mild as well as conditioning. 💆

🌟 What's in it? 🌟

🍃🍃 Sage benefits as a great toner by regulating sebum production in oily complexion. It's also antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, and anti bacterial. It's rich in calcium and vitamin A, which protect your skin and help promote healing. I use both sage infused Safflower oil as well as sage extract.

🍃🍃 Lavender essential oil can do just about anything! In this formulation it's used to not only help repair and sooth the skin, but to sooth your mind as well. Lavender oil is known for it's relaxing fragrance.

🍃🍃 Jojoba oil isn't even an oil! It's a wax ester. It's used a lot in hand and nail care applications and is great for treating acne, psoriasis, sunburn, and chapped skin. It penetrates the skin by sinking into the hair follicle thanks to it's high content of polyphenols. It's a dry emollient so the more you use, the drier it feels on your skin.

🍃🍃 Safflower oil. Safflower is a light nourshing oil rich in linoleic acid. It's full of things like Vitamins A, D & E, lecithin, and omega 9. It's amazing for mature or damaged skin and very moisturizing. It even offers cell regenerating properties and excellent skin penetration so the good things in your lotions are able to be maximized by your skin. It has low comedogenicity, which means it won't cause break outs or clog pores. It's rich with ceramides that prevent moisture loss and help restore elasticity to the skin.

🍃🍃 Sunflower Lecithin is great for a lot of things, but in this case I included it for it's high levels of oleic and linoleic acids, which will moisturize and help restore a damaged skin barrier.

🍃🍃 Sweet Almond oil is light and smooth. It's high in oleic oil so it's moisturizing, softening, has regenerating properties, and can act as an anti-inflammatory ingredient. The linoleic acid can help to restore skin's barrier repair to help keep hands soft.

🍃🍃 Vitamin E is included as boost of skin loving ingredients and to help keep the oils fresh.

🌸🌸To use: 🌸🌸
Just scoop out a small bean sized amount and gently rub into dry skin. I massage it into my face for a couple of minutes. Then rinse with warm water. It will rinse clear with no lingering greasiness. It also makes a great makeup remover.

You can use this balm as part of an oil cleaning method. It's also amazing in conjunction with my Flegrei mud mask. Apply the mask as directed and then follow up with Rshi. Use these two a few nights in a row and you'll dislodge a bunch of gunk from your pores. Even when my skin looks and feels pretty good, I seem to be able to rub free a bunch of those little hard seed type blockages!

------------------------

I only use organic and non-gmo oils and butters and use locally sources ingredients when I can! All of my products are soy free. I do not use any artificial fragrances in my creams. I use only eco-cert emulsifiers and thickeners and nothing animal derived.

➡ Each jar is 4 oz by weight, not volume.

Please check the full listing and ingredient list for any know allergies or sensitivities. I do work with several nut oils and although I maintain a sterile and careful work environment some contact might occur. Use within 3-6 months of purchase, for external use only.

Although I am a Certified Aromatherapist I am not a medical professional so my products make no medical or curative claims.
