Returns & exchanges

>> ALL SALES ARE CONSIDERED FINAL <<
Though all sales are considered final returns are reviewed on a case by case basis, primarily only if there was a significant error in the listing. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Because great care is taken to provide accurate measurements on each garment, returns due to poor fit are not accepted.

To ensure a vintage garment will fit, please read the vintage sizing information below and double-check and compare the listing size and your own size. If you are unsure and have a question about the size or appearance of an item, contact me and I will gladly send you more pictures or take additional measurements. It is important to me that you love your Mouse Trap Vintage purchase!

>> SIZING INFORMATION <<
Vintage clothing fits differently than modern clothing, which is cut loosely to fit a wide variety of body shapes. Vintage clothing is cut much closer to the body than you may be used to. For this reason, it is important that you allow enough wearing ease to move comfortably while wearing your vintage garment. In addition to this, fashion sizes have changed a great deal over the years. Although a vintage item may be marked as a large, that does not necessarily mean it will fit the way a modern large fits. To ensure you are getting a garment that will fit you, it is best to refer to the numeric measurements listed. Vintage garments should always be worn with care and consideration of their age.

>> MEASURING YOURSELF <<
Use a dressmaker’s tape measure, which you can get at your local fabric store.
Measure yourself over the undergarments you plan to wear and not over your clothing.

BUST/CHEST: measure over the fullest part of your bust (while wearing a bra) or chest.

WAIST: measure around the smallest point of your waist where it naturally curves in.

HIP: measure around the fullest part of your hips. This is usually about 8"-9" below your waist.

LENGTH: measure from the top of your shoulder, where a normal shoulder seam would be, down the front, to the point you want the garment to end at the hem.

>> A NOTE ON NUMERIC MEASUREMENTS PROVIDED <<
Measurements are taken with the garment laying flat. The bust/chest measurement is taken from armpit to armpit, then doubled. The waist measurement is taken approx. 5" below where the bust/chest measurement was taken, at the narrowest point of a dress, or across the waistband of a skirt, shorts or pair of pants, then doubled. The hips measurement is taken approx. 8-9" below the waist or across the widest point of the hips area of a garment, then doubled.
