Description

"Tug of War" is an original piece of art I made on my computer using a voice command system. It is printed on to high quality 8.5"X 11" semi-gloss photo paper.

My name is Rena Kriegh and I am a dynamic woman in my 30’s who was born with cerebral palsy. In my early twenties I began speaking publically about disability awareness sharing my own struggles and triumphs as a person with a disability. My goal will always be to advocate, lobby and help improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Art is one of my other interests and I started painting in 2009. My paintings express what I'm feeling at the moment. Because of my disability I have very little use of my hands, so using a paint brush or preparing paint is impossible. Over the years, I have experimented with different kinds of art and have discovered computerized art programs that allow me to use the same tools that able bodied artists might use. Using various art programs, I control a paint brush or other tools but I do this using a microphone with voice commands. Verbally I choose the tool, the color, the texture and then I direct the motion to create the design on my computer. It is challenging but at the same time rewarding because now I can create anything and I did not have this ability when I was younger and without a computer.

Art continues to guide me through my journey as I seek to become a happier and healthier person; it offers me an outlet in times of struggle and sadness and times of growth and discovery. I work to find ways to connect with the world through art.

Please contact me if you would like:

1. My original digital art
2. Unique artistic greeting cards
3. One-of-a-kind digital art creations using your ideas/designs
