When wearing seashells, it is believed that for the bearer, shells stimulate intuition, sensitivity, imagination and adaptability. Returns & exchanges

Returns or exchanges are accepted on non-custom items within the first 7 days of receipt if you are for any reason unhappy with what you have received. Please return the item in the exact condition in which it was received for a full refund or exchange. The goods you send back must be packaged securely in a padded envelope or bubble mailer to avoid damage. Please send a tracking number via etsy conversations for your returned item. It is advised that the returned item be insured in the event that the package is damaged or lost. The Minted Magpie will not issue refunds for lost or damaged returns. (Note: If you return your items using a USPS priority mail small flat-rate box, tracking and up to $50.00 insurance coverage is included.)

I will refund minus shipping fees. Unfortunately, custom items are not refundable.

If a package is returned to me due to wrong address or postal errors, It will be a buyer's responsibility to pay additional postage cost to resend the package.

The cording or wire used to string the Mala will eventually break with use over time. Even though this is a natural process, we like to think of this as a positive expression of the law of cause and effect, creating good karma. The more you use the Mala to pray and recite mantra the sooner it wears out. However, this is not to suggest one shouldn't treat it well. If your mala breaks within the first 60 days after shipment, we will restring it for free. Please contact me via Etsy convo system if you would like to send your mala back for a restringing, and I will give you an address to ship it to. After 60 days, I will restring your mala for a $30 fee, and for domestic orders, I will pay the shipping to return it to you.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: The tassel on my mala is a little frizzy - how do I fix it?
A: The easiest way to fix the tassel is to do the follow: 1) fill a small cup with cold water, 2) dip the tassel into the water all the way to the guru bead, squeezing out the excess water, and then 3) hang the Mala with the tassel facing down on a door knob until it dries completely. This should fix a bent or frizzy tassel.

Q: Why do malas have 108 beads?
A: The answer is complicated, but in brief the origin of 108 is a sacred number related astrologically to the 12 astrological houses, multiplied by the 9 planets in our solar system. Malas can also have 109 beads, 108 to count mantra and the extra Guru Bead (usually slightly larger), which is where the Mala terminates at the tassel. The Guru Bead is added as a reminder of the sacred bond to the teacher or guru. Wrist Malas can have 22 or 27 beads.
