Item details

wafer paper, edible colors

Peonies, the flowers of honor and riches, are perfect for birthday, anniversary or wedding cakes. These beautifully detailed "bomb type" wafer paper peonies come in three sizes, large (4 - 4.5" wide), medium (2.5"-3" wide) and small (approximately 2" wide). Price listed is per flower. Each petal is individually molded and shaped by hand. You may choose a standard 2.5" wire stem, which is sufficient for most applications. If you desire a longer stem, please specify when you order.

Please see the color chart to select your color. If you don't see the color you want, let us know and we can work with you to get the closest match possible. Due to the difference in monitor screen color, if you require an exact match we will need you to mail us a color swatch.

Wafer paper flowers will last indefinitely when stored in a cool, dry, dark place. Keep from direct sun and do not freeze or refrigerate.

Please allow 10 business days before shipping. Please read shipping policies before placing your order.

"Mother stands by the peony bed,
Reaches for one bloom, opens its petals,
And looks for a long time into peony lands,
Where one short instant equals a whole year."

We are happy to customize, if at all possible, any of our products to make your special event a success. A non-refundable deposit may be required, depending on the degree of difficulty in creating your item. Please note that when you ask for a custom order, you must be available to answer any questions we may have regarding colors, sizes, or any other information we may need from you. In most cases, there will not be any shipping delay for custom orders, but plan on an additional 2-3 days for us to make your item, just to be safe.
Wafer paper is best for desserts where the decoration can easily be removed before eating. While it is completely edible, wafer paper can be, well, papery in the mouth. It is slightly transparent, so should be used on items with a white background. The major benefit to using wafer paper on cakes and cupcakes is that it comes to you precut.

Frosting sheets are soft and slightly sweet and are barely noticeable when eaten with the dessert. These are best used where it is difficult to remove the decoration before eating, or the background color is not white. One drawback to using frosting sheets, is that not all designs and sizes are available in a precut state and you will have to cut out the designs before placing them on your dessert.
We are happy to do rush orders if time permits, and it does not push any of our current orders behind. We may add an additional charge for this service. Please keep in mind that you must allow for shipping time, so asking for an item on Friday that you need on Monday is just not going to be possible. While we here at Sweet! can accomplish amazing feats, unfortunately the postal service does not run according to our schedule.
We are available Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm PST. If you send a us a message after business hours we will get back to you the following business day.
This is super easy, and they come out looking exactly like the real thing! Just paint the wafer paper rose petals with a thin coat of corn syrup or piping gel, and gently shake them in a small container of granulated sugar. Set them on wax or parchment paper to dry.
These candied rose petals will stay soft and pliable, even after they dry. If you would like to crisp them up, put them in your oven at the lowest temperature setting. Leave the door slightly ajar. They should be dry in about 30-60 minutes. You can also crisp them in a dehydrator.
