This size Bird of Paradise Plate is pictured in the book "PHOENIX & CONSOLIDATED ART GLASS 1926-1980" by Jack D. Wilson.

Bird of Paradise (circa 1926) - Bird of Paradise was a Hand Wrought Art Glass Production designed by Reuben Haley in 1925. Haley created a number of patterns at this time for a line Consolidated called Martelé . These creations which included pieces in Bird of Paradise, Five Fruits, Katydid, Iris, Fish, and Santa Maria, were introduced at The Pittsburgh Associated Glass and Pottery Show in 1926. Other patterns in the Martelé line include Love Bird, Dogwood, Sea Gull, Pine Cone, Blackberry, C0ckatoo, Bittersweet, The Olive vase, Dancing Girl, Dragon Fly and No.#701 . These patterns can be found in a variety of colors and treatments.
