The Cindy Blouse creates a wonderful optical illusion...with a decorative front panel in an "hourglass" shape, mimicking a curvy bust, waist, and hips. The panel breaks up the breadth of the blouse drawing the eye to the curved shape. Ladies, this is great news for all of us, and especially for curvy girls like me!

The silhouette features the signature Paganoonoo high/low hem and loose fitting hip. This blouse has 3/4 sleeves with a decorative band. The side insets add 6" to 9" of ease at the hip. Optionally, a double collar adds flair and dresses up the look even more. The overall effect is feminine, comfortable, and confident. The cover version was made with 3 men's dress shirts mixed for a color-blocked effect, but it can be made with just 2 shirts. The Cindy looks particularly good in bold stripes with a high contrast decorative panel and double collar. Make endless variations with this design!

The Cindy is upcycled* using two dress shirts (instead of flat fold fabric). With upcycling, there is no need to print, cut out and tape together PATTERN PIECES. The starting materials are 3D garments, so instead the "pattern" is instructions and illustrations that define exactly what and where to cut (disassemble) and how to reassemble the pieces. You are purchasing a set of instructions that you print on 8.5" by 11" paper which can be put in a binder for future ease of reference.

ALL SIZES ARE INCLUDED in that the size/fit of the finished garment is determined by the size of the shirt used for the upper torso, the other parts are self-scaling. ANYONE, any size, who can find a dress shirt to fit the way they like across the shoulders and bust, can successfully fit this pattern. If the shirt is tight at the hip, this is not a problem; the instructions walk you through the design process of adding ease.

The sewing is straightforward piece assembly, mostly using topstitching. All of the tough parts like the collar, collar band, plackets, buttonholes are already sewn on the starting garments, making your job easier! The customization is achieved by picking the right size starting garment and making choices about where to cut by looking at the garment fit on your own body.

ADDITIONAL BONUS - Includes a 4-page tip sheet on design elements, color selection, fit, garment care, and technical tips.

Very original and interesting - fun to make and very fun to wear - everyone will rave about your style and then when you tell them it's made from discarded men's shirts they will go WOW!!!!!

I wish I could share a pic of how well the Patti top turned out for me - it’s on the Paganoonoo Facebook page. (Black, red, and white). The instructions were easy to follow, and I’ve gotten many compliments on the top. It’s cuddly and comfy. I started w/ men’s plaid flannel that was a size too big for me and incorporated 2 tops my sister donated. I’d recommend that the shirts you use be close to the same size, as I had a slight issue with the ladies’ large sized sleeves and button placket not being quite long enough for the 2x men’s shirt. I pieced in what I needed though, and you really can’t tell what I did to compensate. This project was a lot of fun to accomplish. Even my husband was surprised At how nice it looks and he said it looks very cute on me. 😊

I haven't actually made this blouse yet, but used some of the ideas in combination with the Peggy blouse to create an upcycled blouse from dress shirts.
