Pocket sized brown leather journal or leather sketchbook. Excellent for writing, sketching, mixed media and more! Cover is a antiqued brown colored leather with a some distressing and a matte finish. It is stitched in the coptic-style with natural colored artificial sinew.

= Journal Size =
Overall size: 3" x 4" x 3/4" (approximate)
Page size: 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" (single), 2 3/4" x 7 1/2" (opened flat)
60 pages, 120 front and back

= Paper Options =
Bright White: An excellent multipurpose artist paper with low texture. Great for pencil, pen & ink and mixed-media (Strathmore, USA - 130gsm - 30% post consumer recycled - acid free)

Natural White: A high-quality, multipurpose artist paper with medium texture. This thicker paper is great for watercolors, markers and mixed-media, as well as sketching and pen & ink (Schoellershammer, Germany - 165gsm - 100% recycled - acid free)

= Closure Options =
Pictured closure is my natural colored natural hemp, but looks great with any of the browns, dark green or gold to maintain the rustic feel. Or add a pop of color with colors like gold or coral! Regardless, any closure color looks great, just see the last photo for options!

Closure ties are dyed, natural hemp, 1mm in thickness. I also have a variety of buttons, toggles and charms that can be used on any journal. See my “with closure” listings for ideas, or contact me directly for customization options and prices.

This pocket sized journal is multipurpose. The small size is great for bridal party gifts, special occasions or just because. While small, the blank pages still have plenty of room for drawing, notes, and shorter journal entries. The journal, aptly-named, fits easily in your pocket, purse or bag and works great for on-the-go idea capturing. The possibilities are endless!

Each of my journals are handmade from start to finish. All journals are hand cut and bound in the coptic style. The coptic binding allows it to open easily and lay flat. The large journal measures approximately 3" x 4" x 3/4". All journal are hand stitched, containing 60, 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" unlined pages (120 front and back) of hand cut paper. Covers are cut from high quality cowhide. Remember, leather is a natural material and while I do my best to ensure color correctness, there may be minor variations in color or texture. Please see my policies for more details.

You can chose between one of two paper styles, bright white or natural. The bright white paper is 130gsm weight (80lb drawing) paper from Strathmore, USA. This paper is 30% post consumer recycled, acid free, and milled using 100% wind power. With it’s semi-smooth finish, it is perfect for writing, sketching, or any variety of mixed media.

The second paper is a high quality artist paper imported from Schoellershammer, a German paper mill. This company is eco friendly, family run and one of Europe’s oldest paper mills! This paper is natural white in color and compared to the bright white option is a heavier weight paper at 165gm (76lb Watercolor) with a more textured, felt marked finish. While still great for writing and drawing, it takes exceptionally well to heavier medias like water colors and markers.

International shipping is available, please inquire via message if you would like to ship this item outside of the United States. Product is handmade upon order, please allow 3-5 business days for processing after order is placed prior to shipment. If you have any questions regarding turnaround time, bulk orders or would like any customizations please do not hesitate to send me a message!

Returns and exchange details

Please contact me if your are not satisfied with any purchase. Sorry, but shipping fees cannot be refunded, and the buyer is responsible for return shipping. Also, please remember any journals sold which are made from scrap leather are sold AS IS. As stated in each listing I try to cut the leather to include the least defects, but this is not always possible. Scrap leather journals have a personality. If there are any major defects (cuts, holes, tears or large blemishes) I will specifically make note in the listing.

Additional policies

I am willing and eager to create custom journals. If I do not have the leather in stock, the leather will have to be special ordered. Due to the additional expenses of purchasing and shipping specific styles additional charges may apply.

For all listed journals:
Custom closure tie colors are provided at no additional charge, if a preferred color is not listed with the journal, please contact me before ordering to verify availability. Custom closure options such as buttons, charms, etc, are available at an additional cost. I am willing to place these closures on any journal style, but the purchaser must contact me prior to purchasing to ensure availability, and set up a custom listing for the item.

A note on leather:
The leather I use is true, natural leather (cowhide, unless specifically marked otherwise). Like all natural things, it is beautiful but also unique. Even with highly processed leather, such as embossed, natural variations prevail and while I ensure that all leather not marked as scrap is free of defects, nature ensures that no two pieces are identical. Therefore, each individual journal may vary slightly from the one pictured.
