“Sanibel Shell”. Sea Shell necklace.

Exquisite shell (a lettered olive) found washed ashore on the beach at Sanibel, Island, Florida, the most wonderful place in the world for shell collecting.

Neutral palette of sun-washed, sandy colors. Very classy.

Two-inch shell is wire wrapped, surrounded by two freshwater pearls, and suspended from a 16-inch necklace of mother-of-pearl shell beads and sand-colored seed beads.

Expect lots of compliments!

Sanibel Island, Florida is the most wonderful place in the world for collecting shells. Because the Island runs east-west, unlike most islands that run north-south, it acts like a giant scoop, resulting in the most amazing amount and variety of shells. The shells make a lovely twinkling sound as they tumble in the surf, and then wash up on shore, collecting ankle-deep, as shown in the last picture.
