Description

The Quaker Parrot, or Monk Parakeet, is a native of South America. It can be found in large feral colonies in southern Florida, the northeast US and the Midwest. They get their name from their unusual behavior which looks like they’re quaking and shaking, a behavior which is quite normal.

My parrot is needle felted, a process in which wool is poked repeatedly by a barbed needle until the desired form takes shape. Great care has been taken to accurately depict this bird's markings and colors. He is lifesize at 9.5 -10 inches in length and stands on sturdy wire feet and has black glass eyes. You can purchase either the Green or the Blue color or both!

I can also make this parrot in other color mutations, but please contact me to make sure I have the colors I need in stock.

Here is what my customers said about their sculptures:

"THIS PARROT IS PERFECTION!!! My sister is going to love, love, love this felted bird sculpture so much!!! I'm sure the REAL bird, for whom it resembles, will be downright jealous! hahaha! Thank you so much for such amazing and detailed work. This is truly a cherished work of art!!! THANK YOU!!!"

"Mr Blue faced parrot is so cute - he is exactly like my blue Quaker. Tracye has fantastic talent in being able to bring out the characters of the animals she makes. Great work."

Mr. Green or Blue Faced Quaker Parrot is custom made once your order is placed and payment is received. I usually ship within 3-5 days, but please allow more time especially during busy holidays and with multiple orders. Please order early for the Christmas holidays, as I get booked up by November with orders. See my shop announcement for holiday shipping estimates.
