Description

This vintage stencil pattern was revealed on the original horsehair plaster after tearing off several layers of wallpaper from the ceiling of my circa 1860s rowhouse in Baltimore City during renovation. I liked it so much & it's history, that I repainted the ceiling & stenciled it back on.

The corner stencil, including the 1" of the area around the stencil for putting in the corner of the room, should wind up 14.5" square. It will probably print on 3-4 pieces of copy paper. You will need to make your printer copy it on at least 3 sheets of paper. I have it sized properly but you'll need to do the rest.

The piece that connects the corners works the same way & will take 2-3 sheets of copy paper to encompass all 3 repeats (16.25" to 4th repeat of crescent for registration purposes) of the pattern which connects to the corner pattern. Obviously, having shorter repeats better allows for different lengths of rooms, but having more than one per stencil is for convenience of less times having to move the stencil.

Both of these patterns have been sized correctly, but you will need to figure out how to print the whole pattern on the few sheets. Please allow at least 1" from pattern line side to edge of stencil to enable placing the stencil directly into corner of the room & along the seam where the ceiling meets the wall.

This full sized pattern will need to be traced onto Mylar stencil material which can be purchased at your local craft store, then cut out with an Exact-O-Knife.
The flower shape that sticks out on the end ( the registration mark ), should line up so you will know where the stencil should be placed for each successive repeat.

If you'd like actual stencils made, $35, just contact me.
Follow directions for using any kind of stencils.
