Description

Iona is a tiny island, measuring only 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, situated off the coast of Scotland. This bracelet is named after the island as it has a reputation for Celtic stone crosses. The design created by the weaving is reminscent of these Celtic patterns.

It's a beautiful supple piece of beadwork with a slinky elegance to it. Depending on the colours chosen it would suit evening wear or casual every day wear.

It can be woven as a single narrow band or could be made wider as a double band, or more.

This tutorial guides you through the process of making both sizes of Iona Bracelets. It includes detailed step by step instructions and step by step photographs to demonstrate the process.

It is suitable for beginners but does require the beginner beader to be able to follow the changes in orientation of the beadwork in the photographs. These are all indicated clearly.

You will need: superduos, 3mm pearls/bicones or fire polished beads, size 15 Miyuki seed beads, wire guardians, jumprings, clasp, 6lb fireline, beading needle, bead mat and scissors.

I am happy for you to sell items made using the tutorial locally, in galleries and at local craft fairs. I do not permit the selling of items made using the tutorial on the internet. I also do not permit mass production of items made using the tutorial. Please credit me as the designer.

Please note, the pattern is written in ENGLISH only. The photographs are clear and detailed so many beaders will manage to create pieces using the photographs alone.
