Edwardian 1910s-1920s antique kimono with lovely floral embroidery of Chrysanthemums.
Highly popular during the Edwardian period and the flapper era, since the fashion for Orientalism was in high fashion. The silver gray plain-weave silk as the background with the same tone of embroidery color adds a beautiful sheen to the garment. The padded hem is called"Fuki" in japanese. This is a example of the silk kimono-style indoor gown, where the body flares gently down to the hem, and the collar is also curved. While retaining the essential shape of the kimono, it has been deliberately adapted for the European Market!!
Truly a lovely example of skilled embroiderer's!!!!

Measurements: One size
Length: 51 1/2 inches
Sleeves: 27 inches
Mint condition for it's age, one faint age spot on front collar, but nothing to take away the overall beauty of this garment, was packed away for years!!
