Custom, dyed to order sock blanks are here!

Pick your yarn base, how you'd like me to dye it and let me know what colours you'd like - the choices are yours. Gradients, ombre, speckles...contact me for a chat if you're not sure what will work.

Choose between standard sock yarn or add a bit of sparkle or silk and there are DK yarns and a double stranded sock yarn available - and then choose whether you'd prefer your colours to double back on themselves or not;

Double blank - 100g 75% superwash merino/25% nylon sock - approx. 425m/464yds - this has been knitted double, so you will get two almost identical lengths of yarn.
100g 75% superwash merino/25% nylon sock blank - approx. 425m/464yds.
100g 75% superwash merino/20% nylon/5% silver stellina sock blank - approx. 400m/437yds.
100g 80% superwash merino/20% silk fingering blank - approx 400m/437yds
100g 75% superwash merino/25% nylon DK blank - approx 225m/246yds
100g 100% superwash merino DK - approx 225m/246yds

There & Back Again - as shown in the 2nd picture - meaning that you can wind it into a ball and work from both ends to create a matching pair of socks, gloves, mittens or wrist warmers, rather than an odd pair if you were to work continuously through the blank. You could also split it into two balls, to create one ball for each of the pair. If you prefer to work through the colours in order, simply work directly from the blank, allowing it to unravel as you go.

Just One Way - as shown in the 3rd picture - the colours continue through the blank moving from one to the next, so when you work from the blank or the ball, you won't get a repeat, just odd socks, or wristwarmers, or one long gradient for a shawl perhaps.

Marbled - as shown in the 4th & 5th pictures - dyed in colours of your choice.

Punk Sock - an example shown in the 6th picture - randomly placed bright colours with black, usually dyed on a double blank, to make an almost matching pair. No two blanks will be the same, colour placement will differ every time.

Splatters - as shown in the 7th picture - randomly splattered with colours of your choice.

All yarns are dyed using acid dyes and are thoroughly rinsed and washed before drying and preparing, ready to list.
Colours are represented as best I can, but please remember that all monitors are different.
All yarns are hand dyed and therefore no two skeins are exactly the same.
Pictures are of past items and cannot be reproduced exactly.

FAQs

Custom orders are most welcome. I love to work to order. If you don't see what you are looking for in my shop, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Custom items cannot be returned unless they are faulty. Postage costs will not be refunded.
Payment installments can be discussed, however once an installment, deposit or full payment has been paid it is non-refundable.
I will not start work on your order until payment has been made in full.
If you have bought hand dyed yarn or knitted items I would suggest hand washing your finished items with a gentle, suitable wool wash.
Hand dyed yarns may, on occasion, 'bleed' into your washing water - this is due to a little excess dye being left over from the dyeing process and should rinse out. If you wish to use a little white vinegar in your rinsing water this can help.
Scented wool washes, lanolins or knitting with hand creams, or even just the pH of our skin can sometimes cause the dyes to bleed - this is called 'crocking'. In the event of this happening with your yarn I cannot accept returns or refund your purchase.
Wholesale orders are welcome. Please contact me to discuss details. My hand dyed yarns can currently be found at Pink Milk, Leicester, Wool N Stuff, Wakefield and also at the Australian eBay shop A Chronic Yarnoholic.
Unfortunately due to repeated issues with the French postal system all parcels to France will need to be tracked, hence the high postage cost. I will not refund or replace any missing items to France until at least 30 working days have passed from the date posted.
