I have been wanting to start making downloadable patterns for some time now. My biggest obstacle was more of a confidence thing, rather than actual creating pattern and sewing it. More importantly, I wanted to make sure I could create a product that women would love to create and enjoy carrying!

The Diane Tote opens wide to show an interior with a large zippered pocket on one side and a 2 or 3 pocket option on the other. You can easily change the pocket and zippers inside to customize it to your needs.

Straps are secured onto the bag and ends are covered with an accent fabric that stays hidden behind 2 large pockets on each exterior bag side. Directions are included for straps, but webbing, leather or repurposed straps would work great too!

The 24" long zipper tapers off at each end allowing you to open the bag wider than normal. At a finished size of 16"l x 13"h x 4"w it is the perfect size. I also use size 3 zipper for the main closure, but a 4.5 could be used as well.

Included in this 21 page pattern (and all future patterns) is a shopping list of supplies you may need to complete Diane. Easy to print out and take to your favorite craft shop to keep you organized! This file will be delivered to your inbox shortly to the e-mail address provided.

The pattern was easy to follow. Scaled it up to make a larger tote, added a key hook on the inside and 6 pockets on the outside. Great design and simple enough to customize. 😊
