Instant download

Description

This beautiful scarf is perfect for showing off a special yarn.

Because it’s worked from both ends then joined in the middle, you can use the whole skein without worrying about running out.

The main body is stocking stitch that moves along quickly, and the scarf is edged with pretty lace.

The lace section is given in both charts and written instructions so you can choose to use whichever you prefer.

---

You will need:
5mm straight needles
Darning needle
Stitch holder or waste yarn

300-400m/330-440yds 4-ply yarn – I used Fyberspates Scrumptious which is 55% Merino wool 45% silk

Skills needed:
Lace knitting (yarnovers, increases, decreases)
Grafting in Kitchener stitch - this is not as hard as it sounds and clear instructions can be found at http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer04/FEATtheresasum04.html among other places. Alternatively you can cast off the two halves of the scarf and sew them together but this will leave a noticeable seam.

LICENCE:
You may make this item for your own use or as a gift, but you may not make it for sale.
