The Amorphe earrings are based on the chemical structure of an amorphous, non-crystalline solid. Non-crystalline molecular structures differ from crystalline structures in that they lack a regular, ordered arrangement of atoms. Thin-films, an important material for many electronic devices, are a non-crystalline liquid. This design is depicted in a tile from Alim Pasht-Han's ARURA vase created for the Leuchtenburg Porzellanwelten (Porcelain Worlds) in Seitenroda, Germany.

I created the Amorphe earrings at the request of the Leuchtenburg to help promote the collections of the museum. The earrings are available here and at the museum shop.

The earrings are created by 3D-printing in nylon plastic and finished with nickel-free earring hooks. Although the earrings are almost 5 cm in length, the lightness of the material makes them very comfortable to wear.

All items are gift-wrapped in original, recyclable Ontogenie packaging.

While some items are in stock and can be shipped immediately, others require 3-4 weeks for 3D-printing. Items are shipped insured by registered mail.
