Beaded Yoruba Door from Nigeria, West Africa. This wonderful three panel door is hand beaded using 1000's of tiny glass seed beads in bright vivid colors of red, green, yellow, blue, black and white. Depicting images of people and animals in a padded sculptural style, with a geometric graphic border. It has peg style hinges on one side and a striped fabric backing, which does show some signs of its age. The size is approx h64" x w28" x d3" and is of considerable weight, so would need adequate hardware to hang it. This piece would be a wonderful addition to an Ethnic Art or African Art collection. These beaded sculptural pieces made by the Yoruba people are a sign of wealth and prosperity in this region.
