The collective noun for cat is "clowder." I didn't know that, either.

To celebrate learning a new word, I began a series of acrylic cat portraits based on a photograph of Max-the-Cat, my model, muse, and snacks manager. The photograph is clipped to a bookcase in my living room studio. Max's favorite perch is just to the left of my painting table in a piece of custom cat furniture made by the excellent folks at Saint Paul's Purrniture.
