Marvelous book for children and young adults written in 1923 translated from the Norwegian text of Dikken Zwilgmeyer. It is a first edition of this title printed in the United States, with translation by Emilie Poulsson and illustrated by Astri Welham Heiberg.

The condition, as you can see, is acceptable - good, given the it's vintage and the fact that it served for many years in the St. Louis Public Library system. There are stamps and markings to indicate it's tenure with the library and it's removal from the collection. All of the illustrations are present. I did not count through the entire book, but it appears that all text pages are present and still sewn in place, though the binding is loose.

I have many more photos than there is room to upload, so let me know if you'd like to see more.

I don't know if there was an original dust jacket when this volume was published; If there was, that jacket is long gone. The book has been protected by a paper jacket provided by the Lion's Club for the past several decades, at least. It is, of course, included with this sale.
