What you have is an English Town scene of around 1820.

This is a Watercolor and Charcoal on highly textured paper by an unknown artist of the early 19th century.

What is visible is a half-timbered and brick building on the left. There is a man nearby carrying a tray with several white vessels ( glass? ceramic? ) on his head. Nearby is a child playing with a stick and a hoop. In the background is a large Cathedral. On the right is a stucco building with a sign that appears to read "KNIGHT BARBER". In the lower left there appears to be the words St. Peter and other illegible notes.

With stronger magnification, one might be able to decipher the illegible notes. There could be a signature in there!

This is a great treasure from the past and quite possibly 200 years old. I am asking $429 and this price includes free shipping in the USA. Shipping outside of the USA is negotiable with the seller, just ask me.

Additional information or pictures are available upon request.

The frame dimensions are 13 1/8" wide and 16 5/8" high.
