Baby Boy Quilt Sail Boat Truck Fire Engine Reversible Nursery Crip Quilt

is an interesting handmade baby quilt and is completely reversible. The center fabric on the top side has little sail boats, trucks, cars and fire engines. There are green fabrics surrounding the center and then the outer border is blue. Then on the bottom side are blocks with green/black checks surrounded by a gray and a yellow fabric. The border on this side is also the same blue as on the top. The pictures show both sides and the last 2 pics show how both sides look against each other. It is like having 2 quilts in one. It was made using the Cotton Theory technique - each strip of fabric is quilted together first THEN the strips are quilted together in a "quilt as you go technique". With all of the extra quilting this quilt will never come apart. It can be placed in the crib, used as a wall hanging or laid on the floor next to the crib as a mat. You can use it anyway you like and machine wash, and gentle dry. The quilt won't shrink or fray. The batting between the layers is Warm and Natural.

Frequently asked questions about DesertSkyQuilts

I pride myself on being very reasonably priced. I buy all of my quality fabrics and sewing materials when they are on sale. I refuse to pay full prices for anything and I use coupons whenever possible. My quality is NOT affected because of this.
A quilt's size depends on you and your preferences it. If you are looking for a Quilt to curl up and wrap around your self while watching a movie a 40" x 58" could be perfect. If you are wanting a Quilt to lie at the bottom of your bed a nice size could be 24" x 60" bed runner.

Consider the height of you're mattress, and how much over hang you like. Take a quick measurement

Baby - 30 x 40
Crib - 36 x 53
Lap - 50 x 65
Twin - 65 88
Double - 80 x 88
Queen - 86 x 93
King - 104 x 93
A. The first thing I have to decide is what I want the Quilt to look like. I will peruse some magazines or books I have for inspiration. Then I have to take measurements.
B. Next I have to go to the store and look thru ever so so many bolts of fabric and pick out the colors I want, probably 6 to 7 colorss and have the fabric cut. Next is to pick out the thread I'll want to use and then over to the Batting area to have Batting cut.
C. At home cut the fabric with my mat and rotary cutter.
D. Piece the top of the Quilt following the pattern I have chosen.
E. Square up the Quilt.
F. Layer the top, batting and backing fabrics and baste with pins.
G. Quilt the top, cut the binding and sew on the binding.
H. Finish and admire.
