The first Kentucky Settlement at Fort Harrod is featured on this 10 cent stamp issued in 1974 for its 200th Anniversary. Although really the covered wagon, the green prairie, the oxen, and the children in the back of the wagon depict a time of development any place in America. The necklace has a 17" antique gold link chain and a 1" stamp pendant.

The back story on these stamps is that my maternal grandfather collected them and gave them to my mother. She mailed them to her mother-in-law and she carefully saved all those letters and stamps to be discovered by me. I fell in love with these and knew I had to find a way to preserve them and use them.
