Description

The ring in this listing was hand made from a New Jersey state quarter. New Jersey became our 3rd state on December 18, 1787.

The New Jersey quarter shows General George Washington leading his troops across the Delaware River to Trenton, New Jersey. During the next 10 days, the Colonial Army beat the British at the battles of Trenton and Princeton. The coin design is based on an 1851 painting by Emanuel Leutze.

New Jersey's location put it at the heart of many famous Revolutionary battles and earned it the nickname "Crossroads of the Revolution." It was before the Battle of Trenton that George Washington made his famous surprise crossing of the Delaware on Christmas night to defeat the Hessian army.

Nickname: The Garden State
Capital: Trenton

The composition of the coin is 91.67% copper and 8.33% nickel.

My state quarter rings are custom made here in Overland Park, Kansas from coins found in my everyday travels. The ring in the pictures is available, but if you require a different size or state please contact me. If I've got the coin in stock I'd be happy to make a custom ring for you.

THE FINISH
Once the coin is transformed into a ring I do the following:
Smooth any rough edges
Clean completely
Apply the patine to darken the background and highlight the details
Polish with a Micro crystalline wax
Apply two coats of clear metal coating to protect the patina
Finally, I apply a thin coat of clear nail polish to the inside of the coin to help protect against your finger turning green.

Any patina will eventually wear off if worn daily or allowed to get wet.
Please be careful to order the correct size. I'm not a professional jeweler, but I'm able to get them sized pretty closely.
