Description

This keepsake urn is a miniature amphora, the much loved form of ancient Greek and Roman times.

My miniature urns are a labour of love, and take over an hour to hand sculpt. This one is made of a deep chocolate colored stoneware clay, with a glossy, variegated sea green glaze.

The urn comes with a double tasseled cord, and a velvet drawstring bag. It is ready to hang in a quiet nook or remembrance corner, Or can stay discreetly in its bag, in your dresser or desk drawer.

Size is about 3 inches high, 2.5 inches wide,, and holds about 2 tablespoons. As a pet urn, it can accommodate a mouse, gerbil, hamster, parrot, rat or cockatoo.

If you order more than one item from me, I will refund any excess shipping charges.
I offer a 10% discount if you order 2 or more wearable or hanging urns.
I have three styles of wearable urns, and a full range of keepsake, half size, full size and pet urns in my Etsy store.

Shipping policies

Clay & computers don't mix, so I check my e-mail morning & evening, Mon. - Fri. I ship the next business day after your payment clears, using Canada Post. If it's Friday before 1pm, I can usually get your parcel on its way by the weekend.

I live between Peterborough & Bobcaygeon, Ontario. If you want to save the cost of shipping, please e-mail me to arrange to visit my studio. Most of my pieces are sold for the price posted on Etsy, but in Canadian dollars.

I wrap carefully, and I send your parcel out the fastest way possible, for the shipping charged.

I send my large urns and sculpture out only by Expresspost, which guarantees delivery in North America in 2-3 business days. This is the safest way to get my bigger pieces to you.

Additional policies

GREAT SAVINGS!
All my regular and large urns have been reduced, as I now sell them ONLY from my studio.

Please note that NO TWO PIECES ARE EXACTLY ALIKE
There may be minor differences between the posted photo and the piece you receive, as I do not re-shoot each individual item.

RAKU WARES:
Raku is a primitive firing method which is prized for its one of a kind results. Each piece is taken at 1200 degrees from an outdoor kiln with two and a half foot long tongs, and bursts into flames as it is plunged into a barrel of wood shavings. The contact with the tongs, the shavings and the barrel all leave their marks. This is expected, and even revered by collectors of raku, as it shows the trial by fire that the vessel endures. My smooth black raku pieces are all grasped at their back and put in the barrel very carefully, to insure that minimal irregularities occur, away from the front of the piece.
