1970's RETRO Design China Plate by HALLOHAZA of Hungary
20% Off, REDUCED from £16 to £12.80
This wonderful RETRO design plate was made by world famous porcelain potters HALLOHAZA of Hungary. It's bright and colourful floral folk art style design is done in big bold colours of red, green, yellow and blue. It's lot's of fun and screams of 1970's Summer.
The plate has a lovely shape with it's centre being deeper set like a flat shallow bowl, with the raised lip (about 2mm thick) being about 3cm high from table level at its outside edge. The base section is sturdy and the plate weighs nearly 500g so is good quality.
It is marked 'HALLOHAZA Hungary 1831' with their bird stamp on the base. It has a hanging hole (created when made) so that it can be hung on a wall if wished.
The Hallohaza company has been going for over 230 years and originated as glass makers but then turned their skills to making porcelain. They are renowned for quality porcelain and have made gifts for royalty and for Grand Prix prizes.
This fabulous 1970's plate would make a fantastic wall decoration for anyone wanting something unusual and authentic for a retro room or home, or you could enjoy using it.....possibly the first to do so? It's bright and colourful design is so cheery!
Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, scratches, rubbing, or marks. Fresh and shiny - looks unused, so probably only hung on a wall as display, as it has a wire loop through the hanging hole.
All colours on the plate are equal colour and brightness, on edges and centre.......despite my photos not showing this.
